Litter Free Upland: How Our Community is Transforming Upland, California

Why Community Cleanups Matter in Upland

From the tree-lined streets of Euclid Avenue to the iconic backdrop of Mt. Baldy, Upland is a city worth protecting. Unfortunately, like many places, litter and dumping are ongoing challenges.

Community cleanups provide real benefits:

  • Protecting wildlife and the environment

  • Creating safer parks and neighborhoods

  • Encouraging pride in Upland

  • Boosting property values and city reputation

When we pick up trash together, we’re not just cleaning up—we’re strengthening our community.

Our Progress So Far

Since starting, we’ve consistently grown and stayed true to our mission:

  • 122 members and counting

  • 1,846 lbs of trash removed

  • Dozens of cleanups across Upland

Every event shows that when neighbors come together, we can create lasting change.

Building Toward Nonprofit Status

We’re currently waiting on 501(c)(3) approval for Litter Free Upland. This will allow us to apply for grants, partner with more businesses, and expand our reach. While we wait, we are considering a Kickstarter campaign to cover essential startup costs like:

  • Branded event canopy (EZ-Up)

  • Sponsor banner

  • Website fees & hosting

  • Snacks and drinks for volunteers

  • Promotional items like shirts & stickers

Our Future Goals

We want to grow beyond cleanups and into long-term community beautification. That includes:

  • Volunteer web platform design (built on Wix)

  • Professional photos & videos of events

  • Local marketing campaigns

  • Large fundraising events

With your help, we can get there.

How You Can Get Involved

There are many ways to support Litter Free Upland:

  • Volunteer at our cleanup events

  • Donate supplies or funds

  • Sponsor us as a local business

  • Share our mission with neighbors

Every action—big or small—helps us reach our goal of removing 2 tons of trash by the end of this year.
